Dog Beds for your Husky

An most new husky owners quickly discover, high on the list of pointelss things to buy for a husky is an expensive traditional cushion-style dog bed.

We have bought many such beds for our huskies over the years, and they have loved them - They thought they were brilliant toys, and had ever so much fun tearing them apart and scattering the stuffing all around the house and garden! This type of 'proper' beds usually last about 2 or 3 days in our house.

Most of the time, we line our dogs crates with vetbed (see below), or with cheap fleece blankets from Ikea. Both are easily washable, and our huskies don't seem tempted to rip them up.

If there is one type of dog bed we would highly recommend to new husky owners it is the flecce style bed (sometimes called 'Vet Bed'.) Fleece-type synthetic bedding material is durable, washable, warm and comfy. The upper fibers seem to encourage water to drain through it, so in the case of toilet training accidents over night the dog or puppy will not be sitting in a puddle of pee until morning.
Vetbed comes in various colors and backed with either regular fabric or a kind of 'non-slip' rubber. We use rubber backed Non-Slip Vet Bed to line the dogs' boxes in our van, so that they don't slip and slide around their crates whilst travelling.
Vetbed is sold in various sizes, but it is usually worth buying a couple of meters at a time and cutting it to the sizes you require yourself.
